An anime film produced by Sunrise Studio was released in 1999. There was also a television drama which aired on Fuji TV in 2004. The 2023 anime series will be based on the sequel manga series named Megumi no Daigo: Kyukoku no Orange.

The series follows three heroic firefighters who are destined to save Japan. Daigo Toake has remarkable talent and unparalleled passion for his work. On the other hand, Shun Onoda is struggling against walls blocking his own path.
Yuki Nakamura wants to become one of the very few female members of the “Orange.” It is a special rescue Corps where we see these three firefighters come together to share their goal of saving Japan.
