MF Ghost Plot

The anime series is going to be based on the Japanese manga series by Shuichi Shigeno. The series is a sequel to his popular work Initial D and focuses on street racing in Japan.

The manga series was a huge hit among Japanese as well as international fans with over 4 million copies in circulation.

The series is set somewhere between 2020 and 2030 when self-driving cars have replaced engine-based cars. Here, a racing circuit known as MFG employs traditional internal combustion cars and has also garnered popularity worldwide.

In the series, we follow Kanata Livington. Kanata is a 19-year-old Japanese-British racer who is in Japan after graduating from a top racing school in the UK.

He wants to take part in MFG and find his missing father, Ken Katagiri. He moves in with his late mother’s friends and enters the race using his father’s last name.
